Run an Amazon business on profit, not on revenue

Octopus Seller is our web and phone app for Amazon sellers in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE: what each order and each product actually earned after Amazon’s fees, refunds and your own cost — with orders, stock, preparation and your courier in one place.

The operational problem

Seller Central reports revenue. It does not tell you what is left. The referral fee, fulfilment cost, refunds and account fees arrive separately and late, so the number a seller trusts at the end of the month is usually a guess. Meanwhile stock lives in two places at once, and the accountant needs figures the marketplace never puts together.

What Octopus Seller does

  • Real net profit — per order, per SKU and per month, after Amazon’s fees, refunds and the product cost the seller enters.
  • Orders, products and stock in sync — from Amazon’s official Selling Partner API (orders every 2 minutes, finances and listings every 15 minutes), with each financial event attached to its order.
  • Today’s tasks and account health — late shipments, orders due today, stock running out, listing issues, and the same Account Health metrics Amazon reviews.
  • Review requests — Amazon’s own “Request a Review” (Solicitations API), once per order, only when the seller turns it on.
  • Listing content — drafts of titles and bullet points the seller edits and approves; nothing is sent to Amazon without that approval.
  • Buy Box and pricing — who holds the Buy Box and a suggested price; a price changes on Amazon only after the seller confirms it.
  • Odoo connector — the seller’s own Odoo pulls their orders and settlements with an API key the seller creates and can revoke.

Marketplaces

amazon.eg · amazon.sa · amazon.ae — one account per seller, several marketplaces under it. Sellers connect their store from Amazon’s own Seller Central authorization page; we never ask for their Amazon password.

How seller data is handled

Selling data is commercially sensitive, so the rules were set before the features:

  • Every seller is isolated. Each record carries its seller, and every query is filtered by it — by construction, not by convention.
  • Amazon keys are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a master key held outside the database, and never written to a log.
  • No buyer personal data is stored. Names, addresses, e-mails and phone numbers are not requested and are dropped if present.
  • Nothing is changed on Amazon without the seller. Any write back — price, stock, content — needs an explicit confirmation.
  • Sign-in protection — two-factor authentication, and staff accounts that never see money or billing.
